After months of on and off negotiations, Bee Taechaubol and Silvio Berlusconi have finally found an agreement. The Thai businessman will purchase 48% of AC Milan for approximately €480 million. Fininvest, the holding company of Milan, released an official statement confirming Berlusconi and Mr. Bee have come to an agreement and the deal will be made official within the next 8 weeks. SKY Sport Italy also reports that Mr. Bee could become the majority owner of Milan within the next few years.
"The deal with Bee Taechaubol allows me to keep the majority stake." Silvio Berlusconi said. "Now we have the possibility of further developing the use of Milan's commercial brand in Asia."
This is a very significant day for Milan. A new owner with new investors is an exciting prospect, especially following two disappointing seasons. These are exciting times for Milanisti! Could this be the move that helps Milan get back amongst the top clubs in Europe?
